Computer Oriented Numerical Methods has been written for engineering and science students and explains the fundamental concepts that are used in computer oriented numerical methods. Summary Of The Book The use of computers in recent times has made the use of computer oriented numerical methods popular among scientists and engineers. This book on Computer Oriented Numerical Methods is a concise book that focuses on the implementation of algorithms and numerical procedures. It focuses on evolving computational algorithms for calculus and algebra problems on a computer. The book stresses on the geometric intuition of the students for the conceptual comprehension of the numerical methods. The book begins with the basic Maths procedures and goes on to cover the various methods of solving transcendental and algebraic equations. It is inclusive of many topics like integration, differentiation, and simultaneous algebraic equations. Computer Oriented Numerical Methods also includes coverage on Computational Algorithms, Approximation of Functions, Interpolation, Computer Arithmetic, and Iterative Methods for transcendental and algebraic equation. The book also includes Solution of Ordinary Differential Equations, and Solutions to some Selected Exercises. The book specially focuses on computational algorithms for working out curve fitting, nonlinear algebraic equations, sets of linear equations, and ordinary differential equations. In a simple manner, Rajaraman explains the formulation of the required algorithms, The structure of a computer, Errors in numbers, Pivoting, Lagrange Interpolation, Polynomial regression, Taylor series representation, and Higher order differential equations. The algorithmic language is based on English which makes it easier to understand. The many solved examples in the book are useful for better comprehension. About V. Rajaraman V.
