The book titled as Constitutional Developments & Governance in Jammu and Kashmir: A Historical and Contemporary Analysis, contains historical and contemporary description of Jammu and Kashmir’s constitutional law and governance. This book is divided into total nine chapters, namely; Introduction, Understanding Kashir, Koshur and Kashmiriyat, Jammu & Kashmir’s Accession To India, Jammu and Kashmir’s Constitutional Bonding With India, International Toggling Over The Kashmir Issue, Constitutional Transformation Of The State Of J&K-I, Constitutional Transformation Of The State Of J&K-II, Post-2019 Constitutional Developments and Concluding Remarks. Book is an amalgam of history, politics and law that describes in brief, the past and present of the constitutional governance of the State of J&K. Book comprises total 324 pages and is the outcome of socio-legal research adopted to deal with the public law framework focused on State of J&K. It is making difference in two ways. Firstly, it presents sufficient material that helps to verify the fact that State is integrally connected with the Union of India. Secondly, it describes the historical, constitutional and cultural foundations of state as part and parcel of India. In this book, author emphasized the fact that Kashmir is not a geo-political issue that confronts the two countries of Indian subcontinent nor is it merely a place which any nation can forcefully occupy but it has now been transformed into an equal federal unit of Indian Union after decades of good governance through the Indian Constitution. Lastly, author recommended certain measures to help the policy-makers to work towards the full attainment of good governance in the State of J&K.
