He is M.A.., M.Phil and Ph.D in Sociology with interdisciplinary perspective from Jawaharlal Nehru University. Since 1986, he is on the Faculty of Group of Adult Education, School of Social Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He has wide experience and is actively involved in research, extension and teaching. His research interests are in varied field of social sciences like consumer rights education, adult education, skill education, youth and drug abuse, etc. the areas in which he has several publications in the form of articles, books and manuscripts. He was associated with several international and national projects. He has authored/edited nine books on different topics. He was the Director of Group of Adult Education.
