There are two introductory parts. The first gives clinical approach to critical care neurology and the second gives the spectrum of acute neurological disorders managed in the intensive medical care unit over a period of three years. In the following forty chapters, or case studies, the individual types of neurological disorders are discussed. For each case the clinical history, physical findings and clinical diagnosis is given, followed by the radiological images, which is interpreted in correlation with the clinical information. The final diagnosis is made taking into consideration the clinical, radiological and laboratory results. The given treatment and the outcome of each patient is provided. At the end of each case study the relevant literature including recent advances regarding the disease is reviewed with references. Almost all types acute neurological disorders with imaging abnormalities are discussed. This book is meant for students in neurology, critical care medicine, emergency medicine, internal medicine and radiology.
