Every person has a unique set of competencies, which prime him/her for success. While some of these competencies are role specific, most others are generic and aid in effective functioning. The latest among these to be valued is cross-cultural competence, which sets the stage for success in todayís context, whether global or local. Given that the world is getting increasingly diverse, especially post globalisation, the inability to effectively function in it can cause issues ranging from embarrassment to disaster.
