He was a rubber expert for world exhibitions in Paris and St. Louis and compiled all the information on the rubber industry contained in the Encyclopedia Brittanica. Pearson was survived by his daughter, Esther B. Pearson, and was a life member of the Sons of the Revolution and a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society of Great Britain.
