‘Go afishing’, goes the exhortations, for someone out to exert his or her effort in some activity, compulsively. This book, published originally in 1933, dwells on all aspects of fishing in different parts of the world covering in its sweep the small ponds as well as the expensive oceans. The types of fish that are favourites in different areas of the globe, the techniques of the most economic catches and the perspective of developing the craft as an industry, small or big, are the aspects on which the author has dwelt in great detail : from maneuvering a cobweb net in Africa to whaling and whales in different parts of the world have all been captured equally well by the pen of wright and the pictorial.
