About the Book:Cyberpunk science fiction is one of the sub-genres of science fiction. It emerges as a cultural discourse in its own right. Cyberpunk refers to a particular attitude toward technology, and in particular, toward computers and computer networks. It stands for the obsession with technology, the criminal pathology of young men whose intellectual and erotic resources have been channeled into the inanimate. It is about man and machine; about the next revolutionary step: merging of man and machine. It describes the author?s dark vision of future that stems out of human being?s urge to use technology for overpowering the world. William Gibson is described as the father of cyberpunk science fiction. Rudy Rucker offers fresh insight into postmodern condition through his cyberpunk science fiction. About the Author:Dr. Ramesh Chougule teaches at Post-Graduate Department of English, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada Univeristy, Sub-Campus, Osmanabad from the last nine years. He has eighteen years teaching experience at graduate and postgraduate level. He did his Ph. D. in Indian English Literature. He has completed two Minor Research Projects and one Major Research Project sponsored by University Grants Commission, New Delhi. He has published 15 articles in National and International Journals. He has also edited a book on postmodern narration and presently he is Chief Editor of International Journal called Literary Endeavour. He was also principal of Shri Sant Damaji Mahavidyalaya Mangalwedha, Solapur. He has also convened National Seminar on Cultural Studies.
