Written to serve as a guide to visitors to Delhi, this book is quite exhaustive in its compass. Written in 1902 it starts with a brief account of Delhi in that year, and the rest of the six chapters separately note 1) the modern city of Shahjehanabad; 2) the scenes in Delhi in 1857; 3) the south side of Delhi including Humayun's tomb, the grave of Nizam-ud-din Awliya and the Safdarjang tomb; 4) Ancient Delhi of the Hindu and Mohammadan era including the Kila Rai Pithora, the Kutab Minar and Tughlakabad; 5) A brief history of the kings of Delhi, with an historical table of the Mughal kings; and 6) List of objects with archaeological interest. The book contains 49 photographs and 2 maps of Delhi from the year 1902 - the year of the publication of the book.
