The Golden Shower Tree grows to a height of 10–20 meters, with a straight trunk and a spreading, rounded canopy. It features pinnate green leaves and long, pendulous clusters of bright yellow flowers that bloom in late spring to summer. These flowers are followed by cylindrical, dark-brown seed pods that can grow up to 60 cm in length.
