He also holds a doctorate degree from the well known IIT of Delhi for his research work on the Quality Improvement Programme in the year 1977 respectively. He once worked as the head of department for the civil engineering department in the National Institute of Technology, Karnataka and later went to serve as the department head of civil engineering in the S.D.M.
