The progress achieved by North-East India especially Arunachal Pradesh from the economic point of view in the short span of few decades is quite impressive. The structural transformation of the Arunachal economy gets manifested through increasing diversification of the workforce, emergence of modern farm and non-farm activities, rapid urbanization, development of transformation and information technology, spread of education and gradual integration with the regional and national economy. The share of the secondary and tertiary sector has gone up, while that of primary sector has decreased during the same period. The decade of the nineties seems to have reinforced the structural imbalances of the states economy. Apart from the relatively slow growth of NSDP, the dependence of the State on service sector in general and public administration in particular increased substantially. Vast climate variations in Arunachal Pradesh have resulted in existence of almost all types of Herbs and timber wealth ranging from tropical teak in foothills jungles to coniferous and alpine of high mountains.
