About Jeff Kinney Jeff Kinney, born in 1971, is an American author, cartoonist, designer, actor, and producer. Some books of the Diary Of A Wimpy Kid series include Cabin Fever, Rodrick Rules, The Third Wheel, and The Ugly Truth. Kinney graduated from the University of Maryland at College Park. He created the child-oriented website Poptropica.com. TIME magazine listed him as the 100 Most Influential People in the world in 2009. While in college, Kinney created a comic strip called Igdoof that got published in The Diamondback, the campus newspaper.
