Chapter 1 deals with hardware and soft ware concepts of DOS and also deals with the Client- Server model & Remote Procedure Calls. Chapter 2 is about Synchronization in Distributed Systems, Clock Synchronization, Threads, Processor Allocation and Real time Distributed Systems. Chapter 3 focuses on Distributed File System Design, implementation, Concept of Shared Memory and Page –based Distributed Shared Memory. Chapter 4 deals with Process Management in MACH, Memory Management in MACH and Unix Emulation in MACH.
