Earthfall: Retribution is the second volume in Mark Walden’s dystopian science fiction series which began in Earthfall. Summary of the Book Months after the events of Earthfall, Sam continues to try to dispel the trance-like state that has gripped the enslaved people of London. He and his friends had thought the gargantuan Voidborn drilling device they disabled was the only one like it in the world. They were wrong. There are hundreds of others scattered around the world, and all of them are almost near the final stages of construction. Sam and his friends team up with a similar resistance team in Tokyo, and they help them disable their own monstrous device. However, Sam has to learn to pick his allies carefully, for when the world is at stake, there are only a few people you can trust. Taking the events of Earthfall to a global scale, this book breaks out all the stops in showing us what is really happening on the one planet we call home. About Mark Walden Mark Walden is a British writer and a former senior producer in charge of developing games for Sony’s Playstation consoles. He is best known for his H.I.V.E. series of novels. A graduate of Newcastle University, he won the Richard and Judy’s ‘Best Kids’ Books Ever' competition with the first instalment of H.I.V.E. The book has also been optioned for film adaptation by Paramount Pictures.
