Nandi (Sanskrit: ?????) also known as Nandikeshwara or Nandideva is the bull vahana of the Hindu god Shiva and the gatekeeper of Shiva and Parvati. He is also the guardian deity of Kailash, the abode of Shiva. Almost all Shiva temples display stone-images of a seated Nandi. Nandi is always in a meditative mode, symbolizes patience too, waiting to serve every order of His Master.
