Summary of the Book At thirty-two, Elizabeth had everything she could ever ask for – a successful career as a writer, a house, and a husband. At least, that’s how it looked for the others from the outside. But she was extremely unhappy and was always in search of something, especially when her marriage failed to function well. After a nasty divorce and a few days of turmoil later, she spent a few months in Italy, India and Indonesia. Her time in different countries made her explore different aspects of life. She indulged herself in the delights of food and discovering the countries, and eventually her journey enabled her to find love and a deep spiritual experience. Elizabeth’s story has been made into a major motion picture, starring Julia Roberts. The book had remained on The New York Times best-sellers list for 187 weeks! She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from New York University.
