The purpose of this book is to make some of the exciting new discoveries in this field accessible to a wide audience. The contributions included here represent a diverse mix of the best current research on all aspects of the ecology and evolution of plant reproduction. The chapters attempt to sum- marize and review much of the new knowledge in the field while simultaneously giving the flavor of ongoing research at the leading edge of the field. Each author has strived to describe the importance of his or her own research in a broader context. Thus the literature cited section of each paper can serve as an efficient entry into the literature of that specific research area.
