It is matter of great privilege and honour to present something before the society. As Mr. C.S. Lewis has rightly opted, “You can make anything by writing.” We had nostalgia since our childhood to do something for the tribal people & today on the National Education Day we are presenting it before the citizens of India. We express our heartfelt gratefulness to Maa, the Almighty for her blessing to complete the work. We acknowledge and express our heartfelt gratitude to those who have been directly or indirectly involved in the publication of the book and after that we are presenting it before the readers .When women develop, the nation develops, because they are responsible for development in the family. The government is taking many steps to make women self-reliant, but their visible development is not there. Compared to the so-called educated areas, women in the tribal areas have more opportunities and respect, but their financial condition is not that satisfied. Although they live in a kind of self reliant economy, but with the change of era, their demand has also increased. The basis of this book was a research study. In the financial year 2014-15, this research was accelerated in Gadapadar Panchayat of Jeypore Block under Koraput District. SHGs have been a boon in the field of women empowerment in Odisha & India. The researchers have focused on its status in tribal areas. Both primary and secondary data are used in research. The authors hope that the book will usher in a new direction in tribal development.
