About the book: the present study stated as, a study of educational status and problems of karbi women in karbi anglong district of assam, is based on survey records, five sets of questionnaire, for educated karbi women, uneducated karbi women, head of institutions, teachers and policy makers: discussion, personal contacts and interview was done for obtaining correct data and information. The people included in the study were 300 karbi women, 150 each for educated and uneducated, randomly drawn from every parts of karbi anglong, 47 head of the institutions and 521 teachers. The overall educational status of karbi women is increasing but it has not achieved the desired proportions. As another more than 35% of women are still illiterates in the district according to the latest 2011 provisional census on literacy having 82.12% of male and 64.672% of female out of the total 73.52%.
