Narmadeshwar Shivling or Narmada Shivling (Lingam), is a unique stone which is formed naturally and found in the Narmada River bed, in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India, in the village of Bakawan. The Narmada Lingam is formed by merely the flow and current of the water of the Narmada River, which may seem almost unbelievable when you see these Narmada River stones, because of the perfect way it is formed into the Egg-like, elliptical Lingam shape. The Narmada Shiva Lingam is found only in the part of the Narmada River, which flows through Madhya Pradesh and not in parts where the river flows through the state of Maharashtra and Gujarat.The significance of Narmadeshwar Shivling is that it denotes Lord Shiva and has been worshipped since ancient times with reverence as a powerful Shivling and is considered the best Shivling to worship,The Shivling is an abstract form of Lord Shiva, which is worshipped as Lord Shiva, as a representation of His infinite energy form, which has no beginning and no end. The Narmada river Shiva Lingam is said to have miraculous qualities, excellent in fulfilling the desires of the devotees and worshipping this Shivling is highly virtuous. These Shivlings possess extreme healing power and are potent in opening the Chakras of the body. It is commonly worshipped at home. Narmada Shiva Lingam is categorized as Swayambhu Lingam, which means it is a self-manifested or mark of God's existence.
