Elementary Principles Of Chemical Processes (With CD) gives you a pragmatic and descriptive introduction to chemical processes. Summary Of The Book This book trains readers to devise and solve energy and material balances in chemical process systems. The book comes with a CD that gives you an instructional and interactive tutorial. The CD has extensive details on chemical process equipment and also provides valuable information on physical property databases. You will find specific programs that will help you solve algebraic and differential equations. This third edition boasts of having hundreds of case studies of industrial processes and has new problems for you to work on. The book has been revised to increase clarifications on various topics. Frequent use of examples and the clear, concise layout of the material in the book add to its popularity. Elementary Principles Of Chemical Processes (With CD) covers a wide array of topics from material balances to steam reforming of natural gas. It covers the fundamentals of material balances and presents necessary case studies. Single phase and multiphase systems are also dealt with in this book. The authors have included content that describes engineering problem analysis and gives a snapshot of what some chemical engineers do for a living. There are separate sections on balances on nonreactive and reactive processes. Energy balances, balances on transient processes and computer aided balance calculations are also covered in this book. You will learn about processes and process variables along with some more interesting topics like scrubbing of sulfur dioxide from power plant stack gases and production of chlorinated polyvinyl chloride. The content in this book has been adopted by most of the US chemical engineering departments and has been translated into Spanish, Chinese, Portuguese and Korean. About The Authors Ronald W. Rousseau is an author, professor and director. Rousseau holds the prestigious chair at Georgia Institute of Technology and at the School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. His research delved into the broad area of chemical separation processes. He has written over 190 journal articles, monographs, book chapters and several presentations at technical meets and seminars. He has been awarded the Forest Products Award, Clarence G. Gerhold Award and Warren K. Lewis Award from the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE). He was also cited as one of the authors of path breaking chemical engineering books. Richard M. Felder is a professor and an author. Felder has authored/co-authored more than 300 papers on science education and chemical process engineering. He is also the co-director of the National Effective Teaching Institute. He has a PhD in chemical engineering from Princeton University. His core subject of research was on teaching and learning. He propagated student centered instructional methods and lay emphasis on active and cooperative learning. Felder is the first receiver of the Lifetime Achievement Award in Engineering Education and the Global Award for Excellence in Engineering Education.
