Shruti Jauhari’s Elements of Hindustani Classical Music is a comprehensive book on the fundamental features and concepts of Hindustani classical music for all those who desire to learn the art and acquire a thorough knowledge. The different technical terms involved in learning Hindustani music is also described in detail along with its subgenres. The also introduces the life-history and specializations of the Hindustani music veterans and prominent singers in the field. About Shruti Jauhari Shruti is a Hindustani classical music artist, teacher and historian and author on the music form. She specializes in the Khayaal Gayaki and Thumri genres. She is now the Faculty Head for Hindustani Classical Music, Diploma Programme at the Middlesex University, London and also at KM Music Conservatory, Chennai.
