Political thought, can be defined as the tributary of political science that analyses the state and related concepts concerning power, justice, rights, law and other issues pertaining to governance. Political thought or its synonyms like Political thought or its synonyms like political philosophy and political theory are the terms often used widely for the study of philosophical texts related of politics. Political thought discusses the stand taken by the government, its legitimacy and the duties citizens owe to a legitimate government. The political philosophies coined by legendary political thinkers have shaped various forms of government, from tyranny to republican democracy and welfare states. Discussing at length about almost all the political philosophers can be exhaustive. This work discusses a few of the most important thinkers, and especially philosophers whose main concern was political philosophy. They proved to be a good representative of a particular school of thought.
