About Stilianos E. Kountakis Stilianos E. Kountakis is a Professor and Vice Chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology and Director of Rhinology/Sinus Surgery at Georgia Health Sciences University. He completed his MD from the University of Texas and later completed his PhD from the University of Crete Medical School. He has several research interests relating to different forms of sinusitis and has published many research papers. He serves on the editorial board or is a reviewer for several major journals in the field of otolaryngology. Dr. Kountakis has served on many committees of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and was honored with the Academy’s Service Honor Award. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, the American College of Surgeons, and the American Rhinologic Society.
