About the Author Frank G.Gress, MD is Professor of Medicine and Chief, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. Prior to his arrival at SUNY Downstate in April, 2007, Dr. Gress was an Associate Professor of Medicine at Duke University and a member of the faculty in the Division of Gastroenterology. In addition, he served as the Clinical Chief for the Gastroenterology Section at the Durham VA Medical Center and was Director of the Endoscopic Research Program within the Division of Gastroenterology at Duke University. He was also a clinical faculty member of the Pancreaticobiliary Service at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. Thomas J. Savides, M.D. has been involved in research, training, and development of endoscopic ultrasound for the past 15 years. He has been Chairman of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) Special Interest Group and is currently the GI Clinical Services Chief at University of California, San Diego.
