The present book has been designed to meet the requirement of First Year Engineering students of various disciplines of Engineering adopted CBCS curriculum designed by U.G.C./A.I.C.T.E., Govt. of India and by Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The subject ‘‘Engineering Mechanics’’ is a core subject taught to the students of all disciplines of engineering. The course objective of this subject : - To familiarize with different branches of Mechanics. --To familiarize with static equilibrium of particles. - To familiarize with properties of surfaces and volumes. -To familiarize with fundamental concepts of dynamics. The subject is important as it covers the basic principles of engineering which show how a few basic concepts- the relations between a force and its components, the principles of Moments and Newton’s laws of motion may be combined and applied to a wide variety of practical situations that are encountered by an engineer. The book is written in a simple and easy to follow language so that students can group the concepts by self study.
