Engineering Thermodynamics: A Generalized Approach is a comprehensive book for undergraduate mechanical, automobile and aerospace engineering students. The book is intended for a basic introduction to the science of thermodynamics and describes how heat moves between bodies. It explains the laws of thermodynamics, giving students myriad examples for the usage of these principles. It explains why Energy is a constant, how refrigeration is made possible and defines entropy. The book is an essential read for all students and gives them a base to improve upon in a higher course such as one on heat and mass transfer or refrigeration and air conditioning. About P. L. Dhar P. L. Dhar is an Indian academician and a former Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. He was also in charge of the Centre for Rural Development and Technology, IIT Delhi and a member of the Board of Governors.
