Epics Collection by Anant Pai is a collection of eleven mythological tales in graphic book format. It is a collection of mythological tales in a picture format for children and adults alike. This volume has a collection of stories ranging from the Tales of Balarama, Harischandra and also the story of Karna. These graphic book format stories make for an interesting read among the kids. It also makes them aware of the various mythological facts and stories. Comic books have played a defining role in the ways of story narration and this format has been greatly accepted by young children. This book tells the story of Balarama, the brother of Lord Krishna. Children and many of the adults too know little about his feats and the role that he played in the Mahabharata. There are several other stories in this volume such as The Churning of the Ocean, Krishna and Rukmini, Ghatotkacha and many more, each one as interesting and entertaining as the next one. Anant Pai known as Uncle Pai is a very popular name among children. He was born on 17th September 1929 in Karkala in Karnataka. He is particularly famous for his Amar Chitra Katha and Tinkle series comic books. Orphaned when he was very young, he did his early schooling from Karnataka. He held dual degrees from the University of Bombay.  He has also written several comic strips such as Ramu and Shamu and Funland. He has been honoured with several awards and was also honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the First Indian Comic Convention in 2011. He breathed his last on 24th February 2011.
