Essays in Social Anthropology is a collection of essays and papers presented by the author or delivered as lectures on various occasions of seminars and conferences. These essays are the foundations of social anthropology as it has grown over last one century. Thought some of the theories depicted in these essays may have been controversial or may even have lost their significance in this last decade of the twentieth century but these were at the base of social anthropology and on these theories only the structure of the discipline was laid, So these have also been included in this location of essays. This book has been presented in a way that it does not only interest social anthropologists and academicians in this discipline, it may also arouse interest and zeal among the general readers who are given to serious reading About the Author DR. Raghuvir Sinha (b. 1933) took a Master?s Degree in the Faculty of Science at University of Saugar in 1956 followed by several doctoral and post-doctoral degrees during his academic career spread to some thirty years. These include a Ph. D. In sociology (Bhopal University), Ph. D. in Anthropology (Ravi Shankar University, Raipur), a Doctoral Degree from Stanton University, New York, and a Cultural doctorate in Business Management from World University, Los Angeles. His recent interests in medical science have earned him a Doctorate in Alternative Systems of Medicines under the Council of Alternative Systems of Medicines, Calcultta. He has also received several academic awards for his rich and incessant contribution to knowledge like the honour of Fellowship of United Writers Association, India (FUWAI). He is a life member of several scientific and academic and cultural organizations. Dr. Sinha has worked in various cultural areas of India like NEFA, Bihar, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh under different responsible positions. At present he is associated with Management promotion Institute, New Delhi as faculty Advisor and Kothari Institute, Indore as Advisor & Specialist. He is also teaching as Professor, College of Medical Sciences, Indore. His special areas of interest are Family Change, Social Change, Sociology of literature, Human Genetics, and now also Alternative Systems of Medicines. As a social Scientist of repute, Dr Sinha is included in several Who?s Who of India and Asia. He has published some eight important works in Anthropology and Sociology.
