This book covers functional group chemistry of organic halogen compounds, alcohols, phenols, ethers, carbonyl compounds, and amines besides hydrocarbons in 12 chapters. Each chapter has 20-25 pages subdivided into structure, nomenclature, physical and chemical properties. The mechanism of reactions is described in a simplistic manner. At the end of each chapter, there is a summary of the chapter followed by exercises. There are some solved questions also within the chapters.
