This book presents the essential concepts required for designing, using, and implementing database systems and database applications. Our introduction focuses on the basics of database modelling and design, the languages and models make available by the database management systems, and database system implementation techniques. The book is meant to be utilized as a reading material for one semester course in data base systems at the graduate or post graduate level, and as a kind of perspective book. We will probably give an in-depth and out-to-date introduction of the most significant aspects of data base systems and applications, and related innovations. We expect that perusers know about rudimentary programming and data structuring ideas and those they have had some exposure to the basics of computer organization.
