The book covers both the classical and molecular fields of Genetics to enable the students to form an integrated overview of the genetic principles. During the past couple of decades the science of Genetics has grown at an unprecedented pace and the purpose of this book is to provide up-to-date basic information on the subject that emphasizes the multifaceted complex questions of life. The chapters are descriptive, explicit and provided with relevant material that is organized in a way so as to provide logical and consistent transition of classical genetics into modern genetics.||About the Author||Pragya Khanna is Senior Lecturer in Zoology in Govt. Degree College, Jammu & Kashmir. She has over thirty research papers, over seventy popular articles and a book entitled 'Cell and Molecular Biology' to her credit. She has been awarded eight times by different scientific societies in India for her research work including the prestigious 'Swaran Jayanti Puraskar' by the National Academy of Sciences, India. She has attended a number of conferences and seminars in different parts of India and has chaired sessions. She is a member of over a dozen scientific bodies and is in the editorial board of different journals/magazines.
