Adult Education mainly with the issues in and perspectives of adult education, extension and field out REACH to transform the Communities by responding to their needs in India, with special reference to Meghalaya. Tracing the evolution of adult education, it attempts to quantify the impact of adult Education programmes on the development of literacy skills as well as issues relating to Women education, Population growth and social as well as Environmental awareness among the clientele representing various implementing agencies such as universities, voluntary Organizations and government departments. The book will be of great use for researchers, Policy makers and development workers. About the Author Dr. Erbanoris Jyrwa is presently Reader and Head, Centre for Adult and Continuing Education, School of Humanities and Education, NEHU, Shillong. She has published one book Administration of Justice in the Khasi Hills (2006) and has co-edited two books, viz. Adult Education Programmes for Development (2007) and Female Emancipation : Trends and Issues in North East India (2008). Also, she has to her Credit over 40 Academic papers, Research articles published in various journals of repute. She has presented papers in national and international seminars as well. Dr. Jyrwa has directed and completed four research projects sponsored by University Grants Commission on Population Education Programmes and Impact of Adult Education Programmes and by National Council of Rural Institute (NCRI), NHRD, New Delhi to conduct a survey to identify the Need-based Short-term Continuing Education Courses and Development of Innovative Continuing Education Courses.
