Fashion designers develop designs for clothes for men, women and children ranging from everyday wears to very expensive haute couture as demonstrated by models on the catwalk. Costume desingers create clothes for stage, film and television performances. When producing period costume they have to do some research to make sure the details are accurate. Fashion and textile designers work with various types of fabrics. Some fabrics are made from natural materials like wool or cotton. Others are made from artificial matertials such as nylon. Some fabrics are woven and some are knited. So fashion and textile designers can make plenty of money, but they can also make statements with the things they design. About the Author Kamal Khurana was born on 29 June, 1972 in Pune. He got his early education in Central School in the same city. Later on, he went to Bangalore for higher studies and finished fashion technology course from National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). He has travelled many countries and knows the current fashion trends in fashion capitals of the world. This book is the outcome of his long innings of research work in the related subjects of this book. He is a prolific writer who has contributed many write-ups for lifestyle and fashion magazines.
