The Famous Five: Five on a Hike Together is the tenth book of the The Famous Five series. This book will be an ideal read for children aged between 10 and 12 years. Summary of the Book The Famous Five, Julian, Dick, Anne, George and Timmy the dog set out on another fascinating adventure. This time Julian and Dick together with the girls and Timmy plan a hiking trip during a long weekend over to the moorlands. Timmy injures himself, so they decide to split up. Julian and George go off to find a vet while Dick and Anne set out to find a farm for them to rest for the day. Meanwhile a prisoner is on the run and mistakes Dick for somebody whom he has to deliver a message. Dick through his interaction with the prisoner learns of a little secret of some lost treasure. The adventurous five decide to track down the hidden treasure which leads them to a dilapidated farm house and a rather gloomy lake. The children have an encounter with a sinister group of criminals at the farm house. Will the Famous Five be able to track down the treasure and escape from the bad guys?
