She has been teaching at Undergraduate and postgraduate level, guiding M.Phil. and Ph.D. students, writing for reputed journals and has also published books. She has worked on research projects sponsored by I.C.S.S.R., UNICEF. She has attended a number of Regional, National and International Conferences and Seminars and presented papers. From the year 2000, she has been actively involved in the academic activities of S.N.D.T. Women’s University. She was Chairperson of Board of Studies in Sociology and also a member of the Academic Council, Faculty of Social Science, Research Recognition committee, B.U.T.R. committee and other academic bodies between 20002005. At present she is Chairperson of Adhoc Board of Foundation courses and member of – Management Council, Senate, Grievance committee, Board of Studies of S.N.D.T Women’s University.
