The book discusses the fundamentals of theory of elasticity and finite element method, energy and variational principles starting from simple constant strain triangle to sub-iso-super parametric models as well as plate elements. Bucking and dynamic analysis are also discussed. Many case histories are presented where the finite element method was used to analyse and design and to find the in the Appendices to demonstrate the finite element procedure. Throughout the text, examples with figures and numbers are provided.
