Finite Element Analysis Theory And Application with ANSYS is a definitive guide that integrates ANSYS with finite element modeling. The book explores the finite element analysis theory and its myriad applications. Summary Of The Book The finite element method is used extensively in the field of engineering to solve problems related to heat transfer, stress analysis, fluid flow, and electromagnetism. The third edition of Finite Element Analysis Theory And Application With ANSYS helps readers gain understanding of the important fundamentals of finite element modeling and its applications. The book uses the general purpose ANSYS software for finite element modeling. The text introduces the readers to the theoretical and practical modeling aspects of the finite element method. The book is divided into 15 chapters. It begins with an Introduction and A Brief History of ANSYS and the Finite Element Method. It also covers Matrix Algebra, Design Optimization, Trusses, Axial Members, Beams, Frames, One-Dimensional and Two-Dimensional Elements, Analysis of Fluid Mechanical Problems, and Two-Dimensional Heat Transfer Problems. The first few chapters of the book review the basic ideas in finite element analysis. The chapters that follow deal with Gauss-Legendre Quadrature, Galerkin formulation of One-dimensional Heat Transfer and Fluid Problems, the Organization of ANSYS Program, and Design and Material Selection. Some of the other topics like Graphic Capabilities, Unsteady Heat Transfer, Plane-Stress Formulation, Axisymmetric Formulation, Lagrange’s Equations, Engineering Design Process, and Space Trusses are also discussed. This edition is inclusive of many important additions like a section on Excel that deals with the manipulation of series. An appendix on MATLAB has also been added. A lot of emphasis has been laid on expanded derivations and theory. A Summary, Reference, and Problems are some of the sections included after each chapter. Six Appendices are included at the end. Finite Element Analysis Theory And Application With ANSYS was published in 2008. About Saeed Moaveni Dr. Saeed Moaveni is an instructor, successful writer, and engineer.
