Published in the year 2010, Finite Element Analysis Using Ansys 11.0 is an educational book that throws light on the important concepts of finite element analysis. Summary Of The Book Finite Element Analysis Using Ansys 11.0 is a book designed for Undergraduate, and Postgraduate students, who have Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or Finite Element Methods (FEM) as a part of their syllabus. Finite Element Analysis is defined as the numerical method utilized for deriving solutions to boundary value problems. It makes use of variational methods to reduce an error function, and produce a stable solution. This method was birthed out of the need to solve Structural Analysis problems in Aeronautical, and Civil Engineering. Through the course of this book, the readers are guided through utilizing ANSYS software for implementing finite element procedures. The main focus of this book is on Structural Mechanics problems, and enables the students to understand the working of this software by utilizing real-world situations. In total, there are 8 chapters present in this book, with a intro at the beginning, and index at the end of the book. The chapters of this book include Analysis Of Three-Dimensional Solids, Analysis Of Beams And Frames, Plane Stress And Plane Strain Analysis, Analysis Of Trusses, Analysis Of Axisymmetric Solids, Ansys Graphical User Interface, Fundamental Concepts, and Miscellaneous Problems. In this book, the readers have been provided with a number of solved problems, along with chapter-end problems, which are 135 in total. At the end of the book, readers are provided with a number of engineering problems that involve Pipe, Link Elements, and Cable. The readers are also guided through the usage of ANSYS to generate engineering reports. All in all, this book is a must-read for both engineering students, and practicing engineers, who want to better themselves at the subject.
