he significance of why people decorate the Christmas tree goes back a long time ago when people used to decorate the winter trees outside their home which had no leaves on it. People felt that when the leaves fell from the trees, the spirit of the tree abandoned it. This made the people very sad as they felt that without the spirits the tree would no longer survive.
