Summary of the Book Flora is a young girl who calls herself a cynic. She lives with her parents and spends her time reading comic books. One day, her neighbour runs over a squirrel with a vacuum cleaner. The squirrel’s tango with death gives him superpowers. Flora takes in Ulysses, the super-squirrel, and explains that he must use his powers to do good. The neighbour introduces Ulysses to poetry, and soon, the adventures of a super-squirrel begin. However, Flora’s mother is convinced that her daughter has lost it. After all, what normal girl speaks to squirrels?
