To all those readers who are looking to get a sense of validation of their own confusions, indecisiveness, angst, anger, defencelessness, this book could centre you, give you a sense of calm. Lost afternoons and hushed voices and the swirl of a million questions; or of forgotten friendships and lost smiles, these are themes that one could explore; but it’s also about happy moments, of a favourite grandparent, or an acceptance of the feeling of a first crush… the range is exhaustive as it is fascinating. Aadya Singh has explored universal emotions without rush. Each poem is finely etched. Words move fluidly in line with the thoughts. There is depth and brevity which embellishes each poem making it both a journey and a destination.
