The present book is the edited volume of Sixteen papers presented at a seminar on Forest Policy and Tribal Development organised by the Council of Analytical Tribal Studies, Koraput (Orissa), a Research Centre dedicated to micro level studies on socio-economic problems of tribal groups. A number of vital issues concerning the framing of a new forest Policy suiting to the needs of the tribals have been discussed at length by the authors. The book will be of immense use to the scholars, administrators and policy makers interested in Tribal Development About the Author Profullo Chandro Mohapatro Ph.D. has to his credit long years of research into the burning economic issues of the tribal areas. A prolific writer of research based articles which have been published in most Academic Journals in India, Dr. Mohapator presented a paper on the Pronbems of Weaker Classes in India at a seminar on Public Policy and Income Distribution in the University of Sussex, UK. Currently he is engaged in teaching, post doctoral research as well as the Director of COATS.
