The contents of the present volume record the life and work of Rev. John Horden, who for 42 years – from 1851-1892 was a missionary in the Moosonee area located around the Hudson Bay area of Canada. A large measure of the contents are the correspondence that he carried out with various people esp. the editor of the Coral magazine. It contains a vast amount of information concerning his daily life and of those that he worked amidst; the food and the habits of the people, modes of travel, dress, climate, products. The author was the first Bishop of Moosonee.
