Destination India: From London Overland to India is an account of a compelling and fascinating journey undertaken by a political scientist couple from London to Jaipur in a Land Rover. Summary of the Book In the summer of 1956, Lloyd Rudolph and Susanne Rudolph embarked on a 5000-mile journey on their Land Rover from London to the East of Suez - across Western Asia, Turkey, Iran and then over the Khyber pass into the subcontinent. The authors provide a detailed description of their journey and also provide an account of what they learned over the fifty years they spent teaching and writing about India. This travelogue will make for an exciting and entertaining read for travel enthusiasts. About the Authors Lloyd I. Rudolph is Professor Emeritus of Political Science and Susanne Hoeber Rudolph is a Professor of Political Science at the University of Chicago. They were honored with the Padma Bhushan in 2014 for Literature and Education. They were also honored with the University of Chicago's Norman MacLean Faculty Award.
