Selecting a Location: Choose a sunny spot with well-draining soil for planting your rose bush. Roses require at least 6 hours of sunlight per day. Preparing the Soil: Amend the soil with organic matter such as compost to improve drainage and fertility. Ensure the soil pH is around 6.0 to 6.5. Planting: Dig a hole twice as wide and deep as the root ball of the rose plant. Place the plant in the hole, making sure the graft union (swollen area where the stem meets the roots) is just above the soil level. Backfill the hole with soil and water thoroughly.
