Summary Of The Book Fundamentals Of Digital Circuits is a comprehensive text that lays a solid foundation for learning the basics of digital circuits and its design techniques. It’s an authoritative reference emerging from the author’s over 34 years of classroom teaching experience in this subject. The text begins by introducing the students to digital concepts and places an emphasis on real-world applications, thus adopting a practical approach to the subject matter. To support the students’ understanding of the concepts, several worked examples are found under each chapter. The book harmonizes basic digital electronic theory and the latest developments in digital technology. There are no specific prerequisites to understand this text, although a basic knowledge of electronics is required. The text is suitable for undergraduate students studying in several branches of engineering, which include electronics and communication, electrical and electronics, telecommunications, computer science, instrumentation, biomedical, and information technology. It can also be used by science students who study electronics as a part of their curriculum, as well as the MCA students. The book is great for self-study too. The book is student-friendly as the concepts are well presented and the use of language is lucid and simple. The text is grounded in practicality, so as to help students relate theory to applications. Fundamentals Of Digital Circuits contains a discussion of the concepts of Boolean Algebra and how these can be applied to digital circuitry. Both sequential and combination circuits are then elaborately discussed. There are 19 chapters in all, and appendix, glossary, and answers form the three extra sections towards the end. The four chapters new to this edition are Threshold Logic, Programmable Logic Devices, Algorithmic State Machines, and Sequential Circuits-II. Different kinds of questions are available to the reader to test his or her understanding, such as Fill in the Blanks, Short Questions, and Multiple-Choice Questions. Each of these questions, along with their answers, can be found across chapters. New exercises, examples, and illustrations have also been added. About A. Anand Kumar A.
