Choose a location that receives good sunlight and soil drainage. If a spot with good light can't be found, partial shade is acceptable. Work compost and manure into the soil prior to planting the seeds. Seeds can be planted during spring, summer or fall. Plant seeds in the ground at a depth of 1/16 of an inch. Space seeds apart approximately 18 to 24 inches. Apply general purpose fertilizer according to package directions during the early growth stage, and monthly after that. Switch to a fertilizer high in phosphorus just before the daisies bloom. This will make the flowers bigger and brighter. Water daisies regularly. They require an average amount of moisture. Do not let the soil become too dry between watering. Apply a thick layer of mulch around the base of the flowers if you live in an area with extremely cold winters.
