Earlier Dr. Symes taught at Produce University. Dr. Symes is in the forefront of computerization of the institutions of higher learning in Canada. He has published extension of course curriculum. He has also published a number of popular articles in various computer application. Dr. Symes is a member of several professional associations and have travelled extensively abroad including china where he delivered invited lecture.
