The higher education across the world is going through major changes as a result of computer applications in education and use of computer as an educational and research tool. This edited volume brings together papers presented by the scholars of India and Canada on Computer in the Indian universities at the Surat seminar in 1987. The major concerns of the indo-Canadian team have been brought out in the book by the participants of the seminar who have outlined the areas of the frontline researches. Produce University) is Project Director, of the CIDA supported collaborative Indo-Canadian Project A Design Model for Computerizing University. Dr. Symes had been Dean, Faculty of Science the University of Regina for ten years where he headed Department of Computer Science and taught since 1970. Earlier Dr. Symes taught at Produce University. Dr. Symes is in the forefront of computerization of the institutions of higher learning in Canada. He has published extension of course curriculum. He has also published a number of popular articles in various computer application. Dr. Symes is a member of several professional associations and have travelled extensively abroad including china where he delivered invited lecture.
